stone and wood are natural and ancient materials that humans like to see and touch. industralization revolution brought materials that are often cheaper and still look alike natural materials. although these lifeless materials are easier to use and maintain some humans appreciate real materials and its fragility. these apes understand that it’s precisely in this liability that resides indeed its purest beauty

old design take contemporary shape
based on the idea of simplicity and lightness, of traditionalism and local memory. From

this modular “tetris” system of structure and typologies allows for a variation in the size of the openings – larger in common areas and smaller in private areas. In the common areas, these openings become covered outdoor spaces, which allow you to enjoy elevated views over the city, while being protected from weather conditions. The spaces dedicated to the infrastructures are aligned at eight different points, allowing the coexistence of two types of plan, even when alternately mirrored

komorebi pavilion use steel grids and glass bottles - evoking the two most important materials of Modern Era.
the grid often used for concrete slab reinforcement is cut and bent becoming a flexible and elegant structure. These three grids intertwine laterally creating one body supported in only three points.
Underneath the structure will be a space for debate, for sharing ideas and reflection about our future
The komorebi pavilion was designed for 2023 CHART ART FAIR.
it takes inspiration from Marcel Duchamp’s Ready-made work “To work with what is already here” as a statement.
while the bottles, after used and washed will be temporarily ‘drying’ upside down. They are used as a particle that creates an inclusive environment for the duration of the festival and go back to its previous use after its conclusion.

In a clearing by the trees, blankets gently cover the intricate weave of the steel net. A moment of transition, where the hands that crafted and shaped the installation ready it for its next life by the lake. These blankets—soft and protective—become part of the journey, wrapping the strength of steel in tenderness, bridging the space between creation and performance, between land and water.
Suspended between the branches, the net dances in the breeze—light, almost translucent, like a fleeting moment captured mid-air. It hovers above the water, a delicate boundary between what is seen and what is imagined. The natural world frames it, embracing the installation as if it has always belonged. Here, simplicity meets ingenuity, transforming the mundane into the ethereal. The net becomes more than a material; it is a conduit for the wind, light, and shadows, harmonizing with its surroundings.
Beneath the still waters, a stone, tethered by rope, serves as the silent anchor for the floating platforms. Though unseen, it allows movement—deliberate, yet free—holding the space for performances to unfold. Like the balance between structure and fluidity, this humble anchor defines the radius of expression, grounding creativity while allowing for gentle shifts, rehearsals, and new beginnings on the water.
The dark platform floats still, anchored yet open to movement. Its simplicity blends into the landscape, a quiet pause before transformation.
Beneath the canopy of trees, the platform becomes a quiet stage for human presence. Two bodies lie still, merging with the tranquility of the water beneath them. Above, the same ethereal net floats like an unspoken thought. The moment speaks of a deep connection between people, materials, and nature—a peaceful coexistence where nothing is wasted, and everything holds potential for new life. The platform, sturdy and minimal, serves as a temporary home—a place to rest, to reflect, to let the world simply be.
The platform, ever in motion, floats on the lake—an evolving stage surrounded by nature's amphitheater. The trees form its walls, the water its foundation, making each performance an interplay between art and landscape. Here, the installation becomes the canvas, offering new possibilities for artists to shape their expression within the flow of the natural world.
The net glows softly in the night, its reflection captured perfectly in the still water below. Light and shadow meet, creating a delicate interplay between the floating structure and the quiet darkness.
In the quiet of night, the installation glows faintly through the trees, its presence revealed only in glimpses. Shadows and light intermingle, transforming the landscape into a secret, otherworldly scene. Illuminated by soft hues, the net becomes both sculpture and specter, blending into the darkness while quietly shaping the space around it. Here, nature and art converge in silence, their dialogue carried on the night breeze.

«This book is intended to encourage reflection and action. It is my hope that this will encourage debate and active participation from all citizens. I believe that change cannot be achieved by any one individual, but rather through collective effort and the mobilization of all sectors of society.
I have tried to be as objective as possible in putting together this proposal, aware that there are a few different perspectives and potentially effective solutions. I do not wish to undervalue the merits of other approaches, but rather to present the one I believe in and to explain in detail why I support it.
I would like to invite you to browse these pages with an open mind and a critical spirit. This work is not just a book it is a starting point for dialogue, mobilization and the implementation of solutions that could transform the housing reality in Portugal. We have the power to make a change. May this be the start of a collective journey towards fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable cities.

‘Touchscape: Through light and texture’ is an ethereal installation that weaves the poetry of nature and sustainability into an immersive experience. Crafted from natural fibers and textile remnants sourced from northern Portugal’s textile industry, it highlights the beauty of circular design and resourcefulness. A steel grid, lightly suspended between trees, serves as the framework from which hand-knotted textiles cascade like rain, exploring the concept of “komorebi” - the Japanese word for sunlight filtered through the leaves of trees. Before the festival begins a group of young artists meet to freely shape and give life to this new tactile environment . During the duration of the festival participants are invited to interact with distinct textiles, each offering a unique texture to expand the senses. This sensory landscape creates a space of connection, where touch becomes a bridge between individuals. The simplicity of the design complements its poetic allure, blending sensuality with spirituality. The interplay of light, shadow, and fabric conjures a dreamlike atmosphere, offering a space for introspection and shared presence amidst a controlled yet organic flow of material and light.
